Morson Edge is looking for Skilled Fitters – Aerospace Location: Filton, Bristol Contract: 6-month ongoing Security: Baseline Security Clearance required before start Overview A major move. A manufacturing mainstay. A contract with momentum. Morson Edge is recruiting Skilled Fitters to join a high-profile aerospace production programme in Filton. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a large-scale aircraft manufacturing environment, supporting metallic structural wing build assemblies on a programme built for continuity. You’ll join a professional production setting where standards are high, teams are experienced, and good fitters are always valued. Shift Pattern Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday 07:00 – 16:15 Rates Skilled (without Stamp): £19.40 per hour Skilled (with Stamp): £20.19 per hour Weekday Overtime: £24.25 rising to £25.24 with Stamp Weekend Overtime: £29.10 rising to £30.29 with Stamp The Role You will operate as a multi-skilled structural fitter within an aircraft production environment, working from engineering drawings and standard operating procedures to achieve right-first-time quality. A metallic structural trade test will be completed onsite, covering drilling, riveting, countersinking, and bolting. Key Responsibilities Percussion riveting Drill, ream, and countersink panels using Vanmar tooling Set structures in build jigs Deburr and fettle structures Carry out localised aluminium treatment touch-up Use CNC pillar drills (DONAU) Clear work phases through SAP in a timely manner Raise non-conformance issues to the Process Team Leader Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards Requirements Level 3 indentured apprenticeship in a relevant trade, or NVQ Level 3 with 3–5 years aerospace experience Previous aircraft production or manufacturing experience preferred Ability to follow standard operating procedures Comfortable working in small, effective teams Lean manufacturing awareness desirable Strong communication skills and proactive attitude The Setting Filton – a key UK aerospace manufacturing hub Ongoing contract potential after initial 6 months Structured production environment with established processes Strong earning potential through overtime rates A solid shift.
