The D-EKDT is a demountable aircraft similar to a sailplane, featuring an enlarged cabin width for comfort and spaciousness. The gull-wing canopy facilitates easy entry and exit. Differential hydraulic brakes are pilot-operated with heel brakes. Rudder pedals are installed on both sides with a center control stick. Landing flaps are mechanically controlled via a lever on the left side of the pilot seat. The propeller pitch is adjustable in flight. The free-castoring nose gear and differential brakes make the aircraft highly maneuverable on the ground. The aircraft has been consistently hangared throughout ownership except for brief periods at other airfields.
