About the role

Morson Edge is currently seeking highly skilled and motivated Fitters to join a prestigious aerospace programme based on the Isle of Wight. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to advanced aviation projects while working with a respected industry leader on a contract basis. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in the production and assembly of aircraft components, including: Manufacturing both main and sub-assemblies (jig-controlled and non-jig controlled) using appropriate tools, fixtures, and established assembly techniques Working across a range of aircraft structures, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, processes, and procedures to consistently meet stringent quality standards Producing first-off production units with accuracy and attention to detail Carrying out mechanical assembly work to a consistently high standard Role Details Hours: 37 hours per week Contract Duration: 12 months Initial 6-month period (aligned with ITAR requirements), followed by review Shift Pattern: Day Shift (initially): Monday–Thursday: 08:00–16:30 Friday: 07:45–12:45 Flexibility required to move onto Double Days: 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 (weekly rotation) Potential requirement to work night shifts Competitive Pay Rates Core Day Shift: £18.03 per hour Weekday overtime (OT1): £22.54 Weekend overtime: £27.05 Double Days: £22.54 per hour (subject to availability) Overtime rates remain unchanged Additional Contractor Benefits (Mainland Applicants) Accommodation allowance of up to £1,400 gross per month (receipts required) One ferry ticket per month reimbursed up to £100 (receipts required; fare dependent on booking time) Essential Requirements NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, or a completed apprenticeship with equivalent certification Demonstrable experience in mechanical fitting or aerospace assembly A strong commitment to quality, safety, and precision engineering Take the Next Step If you are a qualified and experienced fitter seeking your next contract opportunity within a dynamic and highly regarded aerospace environment, we would be keen to hear from you.
