About the role

Synopsis The Duty Manager Light Maintenance reports to Senior Manager Aircraft Maintenance (Line and Light Maintenance) (SM L&L) and is the contact person for the Senior Management and for MCC in all matters regarding daily Light Maintenance activities. He/she is fully qualified under GCAA and maintains his/her certification privileges to certify aircraft as fit for service. Deputizes for the SM L&L. Liaises with MCC, ensuring that scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is carried out efficiently in a timely manner. Provides the appropriate time, training, resources, and encouragement to Etihad employees to support their involvement in the on-going development of Etihad’s Safety Management System and safety culture. Accountabilities Ensures that maintenance is carried out to the highest aviation industry standards and best practices, and that the correct technical approach is adopted; to ensure that the aircraft are returned to service within the agreed flying program. Ensures with the Administration Officer the validity of licenses and authorizations held by shift members (e.g. GCAA licenses, Company Authorizations, vehicle driving licenses). Certifies own work and work of others after having verified task has been performed in accordance with approved maintenance data within the scope of authorization. Ensures the cleanliness of station facilities. Monitors aircraft documentation to ensure it is completed in an accurate and timely manner and ensuring that the aircraft are certified for release to service. Constantly reviews leave of absence, accident reports and sickness documentation, and taking necessary action accordingly. Constantly reviews working practices to ensure that the best use of all resources is maintained. Ensures compliance with health and safety requirements. Ensures appropriate and documented shift handover at the end of the shift duty. Behaves in a manner which reflects a professional approach when dealing with customers. Accepts appropriate training that will enable a more effective contribution. Liaises between Aircraft Maintenance Supervisors Light Maintenance to ensure continuity and attending regular shift meetings and other meetings as required. Implements SMS systems and processes and ensure formal Risk Assessments are carried out for operationally significant changes. Ensures a safe and secure working environment for Etihad employees. Promotes quality of work, safety and security awareness. Actively manages any incidents that may occur in order to minimize Etihad employees’ injury and other forms of loss. Monitors training currency of employees under his/her supervision to prevent any overdue. Education & Experience High School leaving Certificate / or Education to university/college degree. Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License convertible to GCAA with minimum 2 Etihad aircraft types (level 3). The Duty Manager Light Maintenance must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, of which 3 years is in a supervisory role. Experience in managing the Base/Light Maintenance operations working within an Airline or MRO.
