Mechanical Aircraft Technician Dhahran, Saudi Arabia RSAF Tornado Programme Contract Opportunity £280.64 per day Ltd Work on One of the World's Largest Operational Tornado Fleets Morson Edge is currently recruiting experienced Mechanical Aircraft Technicians to support a major RSAF Tornado maintenance programme in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. This is an excellent opportunity for aircraft mechanical engineers to join a highly experienced maintenance organisation supporting operational military aircraft within a professional and highly regulated aviation environment. Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you'll be involved in aircraft and component maintenance activities, carrying out inspections, repairs, modifications, servicing, overhaul activities, and fault diagnosis to support aircraft availability and operational capability. Whether your background is fast jet, military aviation, transport aircraft, rotary wing, or complex aircraft maintenance, this role provides the opportunity to work on one of military aviation's most iconic aircraft platforms within a highly professional operational environment. Previous Tornado experience is advantageous but not essential. Engineers from a broad range of military and civilian aircraft maintenance backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The Role Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will carry out a variety of aircraft and component maintenance activities, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with approved technical procedures and maintenance standards. You will support maintenance activities across the Tornado fleet, carrying out servicing, inspections, fault diagnosis, rectification, modification embodiment, component replacement, and system testing activities. The position requires a sound understanding of military aircraft maintenance practices and the ability to work within a structured maintenance environment supporting aircraft generation and operational availability targets. You will also support the development of trainee technicians while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and workmanship. Key Responsibilities Aircraft & Component Maintenance Carry out aircraft and component maintenance activities Install, repair, service, modify, inspect, and test aircraft systems and components Conduct component inspections, evaluations, repairs, overhauls, and modifications Ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved maintenance procedures Maintain strict tool control and engineering standards Manage spare parts requirements through the logistics system Support aircraft serviceability and operational readiness Support aircraft generation activities and maintenance recovery actions Assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements Training & Development Maintain valid and current authorisations relevant to assigned tasks Proactively identify training requirements for self and team members Provide technical guidance and support where required Assist with engineering problem-solving activities Quality & Safety Maintain compliance with technical publications and engineering procedures Support FOD prevention and housekeeping standards Adhere to all SHE and Product Safety requirements Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed accurately Essential Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 years post-qualification aircraft maintenance experience supported by formal training OR Successful completion of a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship programme Relevant aircraft maintenance experience Human Factors trained Current driving licence Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures and engineering documentation Experience working within military or commercial aviation maintenance environments Desirable Experience Fast Jet maintenance experience Tornado experience Military aviation experience Experience supporting aircraft servicing, inspections, modifications, and maintenance activities Experience working within regulated maintenance organisations Essential Skills Strong aircraft mechanical maintenance knowledge Experience working on aircraft systems and components Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical publications Excellent communication skills Ability to work effectively within a multinational workforce High standards of workmanship and attention to detail Strong commitment to safety and quality Why Tornado?
